Friedrich Theodor von Frerichs (1819-1885)

Professor Friedrich Theodor von Frerichs was Ehrlich's strongest supporter at the Berlin Charite University Hospital.
He introduced a little laboratory of clinical chemistry where Ehrlich could work very freely on dye staining of blood. Unfortunately Professor Frerichs died very early and his successor did not support Ehrlich and his
"non-necessary" research. He wanted to urge Ehrlich to see patients rather than doing research. Ehrlich had to leave.
